Monday

I'm tempted to stay home and enjoy labor day but since it's not labor day here I'm set up with a long list of things to do, including a bank account, a cell phone, a corkscrew, and the delivery of some documents to the French government. And a student id.

  1. It's a quiet and cloudy day. We had a delightful evening last night with Joe and Melinda and their five boys. Patrick and Hazel stopped by and we had s'mores between games of badmitton. (No scores.)

I am amazed at how communication has changed since I was in India. (Yes, thirty-five years ago.) Back then communicating involved writing letters and waiting weeks for a reply. There was a real time warp invovled because the letters I received referenced things that were weeks old and often forgotten. There was nothing instantaneous about it.

In your list I didn't see going to class. Does your class start today?

And by the way, the icemaker on the refrigerator stopped working? Any suggestions?
