Bollywood Grill

Indian for lunch after running some errands for the morning. I was actually half way to my next stop but it was raining and I hadn't eaten yet so I figured it would be a good stopping point. I've crossed two of my errands so far, a bank run and picking up a form that will hopefully provide me with money for lodging... Who knows.

The picture is Guttenberg. He has a square named after him here, just south of the cathedral. Well it might be south, I don't know, I have reallignes my compass to use the cathedral a my center point with the directions following the length of the church and then cutting across the face. I am pretty sure that is wrong but oh well.

Had a good weekend, the rain was a downer but we made the most of it. Monopoly and poker Sunday, laundry and an IEP house party Saturday and a get together Friday at laura's. Tonight we plan Prague, and I plan Lyon.

  1. Today is October 12 and we turned on the furnace. Life is punctuated by the mundane.

Until you open your eyes. Driving towards St. Joan of Arc for a meeting this evening I marveled at a beautiful maple tree on Washington Boulevard. The tree was ablaze in vivid orange. I have never seen a tree draped in such color.

It has been an interesting fall. The colors of autumn have been slow to emerge and initially subtle. But as we slide toward the edge of winter the trees have blossomed with color almost as if in revenge. It's like the last resistance toward the inevitable cold.

It's late and the house is quiet except for the sound of the furnace circulating the warm air in the kitchen. It's not a sound I enjoy. I have always been more comfortable with the clanging of radiators. They're more convincing than the monotonous hum of a distance fan.

    Time to sleep.
