Crisp cold skies

It's cold. Ok so maybe not really cold. 37F, 1C but I don't had a heavyish coat. I've been looking for one and will continue the search Friday, I don't have breaks long enoughto shuffle off to the mall to look at coats.

Classes have been good this week, I've been focused and taking notes. It'll make up for what I miss traveling. We're officially going to Prague the weekend of the the 21st of november! I have trips planned to Amsterdam for a concert (it's a 19 hour train journey from Madrid, I'm leaving after mum flies out) and Lyon for the Festival of lights.

I'm in class so I'll have to write more later!

  1. I'm glad to hear that classes are going well. I had time with Hazel and Vivian last night. They're growing quickly and Hazel is little Miss Independent, but in a very endearing way. Vivian is teething so she was more fussing than endearing.

We still have not had frost, but it is cool and damp. Aunt Cleo and Uncle Swiech arrive tomorrow.

  2. Milan and Wan Seung are upstairs hanging pictures. We had to change a light bulb in the living room ceiling and it was problematic. (Anyone reading this will ask how many men does it take to change a light bulb? The answer in this case was two.)

Here we're changing light bulbs and hanging pictures and you're planning trips to Prague, Madrid and Amsterdam. My advice is to do it while you can. The light bulbs will catch up with you soon enough.

The Dow hit 10,000 today which feels like a significant milestone. It may feel like a milestone, but I'm not really sure what it indicates. There is still a sense of instability in the the market. Banks are fearful of commercial loan losses and credit card debt so no one is lending. As long as credit remains tight, business activity is stymied. We're holding stable so I should be grateful for that.

Milan said they have snow in the Czech Republic; as much as two meters. Perhaps your mother should take a second suitcase of winter clothes for you.

I'm watching a marathon of "I Love Lucy". It's insanely ridiculous. And I need to get back to work.

  3. Your mother has observed that "you're getting lazy" since you haven't posted anything in two days. Translation: We miss you and we're anxious to hear how you're doing.

We're in the kitchen with Aunt Cleo and Uncle Swiech. There's lots of talk about family and food. We're snacking on shrimp with a horseradish and catsup sauce. (It you don't have shrimp cocktail sauce just mix a little catsup with horseradish.) There's cheese dip and artichoke dip. Your mother is making spaghetti with the leftover sauce for the lasagna we made for the French Market dinner.

Tomorrow I'm helping Aunt Nancy finish moving. If you're available, plan to be at her house at 10:00 a.m. I need someone to drive the Sprinter.

Driving home tonight I passed a a row of maple trees that were aflame with color. It was absolutely beautiful.

I'm excited to hear about your trip to Prague. Take lots of pictures.
